UNFPA handed over a vehicle to the National Statistical Committee of the Kyrgyz Republic.

UNFPA, the United Nations Population Fund in the Kyrgyz Republic assists in building capacity in population data collection and analysis. The UNFPA in Kyrgyzstan supports the conduction of housing and population census, scheduled for the year 2009.

Accordingly, within the framework of the abovementioned the UNFPA in Kyrgyzstan granted the National Statistical Committee of the Kyrgyz Republic with the vehicle Nissan-Terrano II on the 11th of July 2008 – the World Population Day.     
The transmition of the vehicle this year, devoted to the occasion of the World Population Day is not the first support rendered to the statistical system services in Kyrgyzstan. The UNFPA also provides technical and financial support in human resource capacity building to the central apparatus of the National Statistical Committee and its regional structures.
