State of World Population 2020
Every year, millions of girls are subjected to practices that harm them physically and emotionally, with the full knowledge and consent of their families, friends and communities, according to the State of World Population 2020.
At least 19 harmful practices, ranging from breast ironing to virginity testing, are considered human rights violations, according to the UNFPA report, which focuses on the three most prevalent ones: female genital mutilation, child marriage, and extreme bias against daughters in favour of sons.

Inception Report on Confidential Enquiry into Maternal Deaths in KG
In line with the definition of the International Statistical Classification of Diseases and Related Health Problems 10th Revision (ICD-10), "Maternal death is the death of a woman while pregnant or within 42 days of the end of pregnancy, irrespective of the duration and site of the pregnancy, from any cause related or aggravated by pregnancy, or its management but not from accidental or incidental causes". This implies the link between pregnancy and death, both in terms of the time of death coming, and the cause of the death.
