Mr. Edil Baisalov, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, and Mr. Ronny Lindstrom, Country Director of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) discussed the implementation of joint projects.
Mr. Baisalov congratulated the new Country Director of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) in Kyrgyzstan on his appointment and spoke about the importance of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) support to Kyrgyzstan.
"In March of this year, our republic conducted a national population and housing census campaign and is currently processing the results with your help in order to improve planning and targeting of government programs," he noted.
Mr. Ronny Lindstrom expressed readiness for further cooperation on the projects interesting to the country.
The parties discussed the issues of joint cooperation in such areas as capacity building in the field of socio-demographic statistics, improving the quality of life of senior citizens, development of the potential of young people with disabilities, gender equality, and social projects for children of migrants and persons with disabilities.
