Gender-sensitive journalism in Kyrgyzstan: Journalists trained in covering gender- sensitive topics

A 4-day workshop for journalists "Media in Action" was held in the Issyk-Kul region, organized by the Ministry of Health and Social Development of the Kyrgyz Republic and the United Nations Population Fund in Kyrgyzstan (UNFPA). The purpose of the seminar was to organize the exchange of knowledge and resources, as well as to facilitate cooperation with media representatives for reliable and responsible coverage of the situation with reproductive rights through the prism of family planning and gender equality, issues of sexual health and demographic processes, as well as the role of youth in promoting these issues.

The workshop was attended by more than 20 journalists and representatives of the press services of the Ministry of Health and Social Development of the Kyrgyz Republic, as well as UNFPA experts and program representatives.
