On September 9, Gulnara Baatyrova, Minister of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic, and Mr. Ronny Lindstrom, the new UNFPA Country Director in Kyrgyzstan, had an official meeting in Bishkek.

The Minister congratulated the new UNFPA Country Director on her appointment and noted the importance of continued cooperation with the UN Population Fund on reproductive health and family planning. In particular, the Minister expressed Kyrgyzstan's readiness to achieve all commitments under the Family Planning 2030 Program. 

Mr. Lindstrom told about the Fund's plans under the new Country Program 2023-2027 and readiness for further cooperation and full support of the health system by the Fund.

The parties discussed the issues of joint cooperation in such areas as capacity building of health workers, strengthening of information work on family planning among the population, improvement of quality of services in medical institutions in the field of reproductive health, and provision of full medical care and protection to women victims of violence.
