25 March, 2015 UNFPA conducted the Round Table to discuss the results of the International Conference on Population and Development (ICPD), Programme of Action review. The discussion was attended by Vice Prime Minister Niyazalieva D., UNFPA Country Director Botev N., MP Karamushkina I., representatives of ministries and other government bodies of the Kyrgyz Republic and civil sector.
The work took place in three groups:
1. Population dynamics and sustainable development (+ cross-cutting issues)
2. Family, sexual and reproductive health at all stages of life
3. Inequality, social integration and the right (+ partnership and international cooperation)
The purpose of the Roundtable was to familiarize stakeholders with the results of the review and development of national guidelines based on them. Also it was important to develop national recommendations that will be forwarded to the relevant authorities in order to be included into the next National development strategy.
