On March 10, a roundtable discussion on "Health care" for Osh region imams with a representative of the State Commission for Religious Affairs, a representative of the Ministry of Health, department heads of the Muftiat, and Ibraev Mars, a member of the Ulema Council was conducted in Osh.
The event, which was also attended by religious figures, included an explanation of the fatwa on health.
In addition, Ms. Raisa Asylbashova, representative of the Ministry of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic, provided statistics on maternal mortality in the country, and Ravshan Eratov, head of the Muftiat's education department, spoke about health issues in religion.
Asel Turgunova, the UNFPA program specialist, spoke about the assistance, goals, and results of the UNFPA in the Kyrgyz Republic in working with religious communities.
