The first direction is aimed at enhancing national capacity for the production, utilization and dissemination of statistical data on population dynamics, youth, maternal health, SRH and GBV. In this direction UNFPA works to support relevant government bodies in improving accuracy and quality of vital statistics and other population data for evidence-based policy formulation. UNFPA supports carrying out of the second DHS in the Kyrgyz Republic and community based surveys and research on focus areas.
UNFPA will provide support to the government in introduction of population register. UNFPA w strengthen sectoral data collection mechanisms on domestic violence. Also UNFPA supports use of modern information technologies in dissemination of statistical data for evidence-based policy-making. UNFPA will support development and production of publications with a focus on youth, SRH and gender. UNFPA will promote international experience exchange in areas of data collection and dissemination.
The second direction is aimed at strengthening national capacity for data analysis to inform decision-making and policy formulation around population dynamics and population issues (with focus on maternal health, SRH and GBV including sexual violence). In this direction UNFPA works to build national capacity to analyze data, strengthen evidence-based policy dialogues with policy-makers through carrying out and dissemination of cross-cutting thematic research with policy recommendations on maternal health, youth, SRH and gender issues in Kyrgyzstan.
UNFPA works closely with parliamentarians, and the Government in addressing their capacity needs in applying available data, research results and best practices for evidence-based planning and policy formulation in areas of UNFPA focus. The UNFPA supports the Government efforts in the implementation of CEDAW, National Gender Strategy, Gender NAP and National Reproductive Health Strategy.
The UNFPA will advocate and provide technical support in revision of RH law. The UNFPA will support development of policies and mechanisms to strengthen referral pathways for GBV survivors and better integration of health services with social support services.
